324. Understand & Express Your Emotions to Reduce Chronic Pain

May 28, 2024 by Kersten Kimura Leave a Comment

I’ve had TMS, chronic symptoms and sensations in my body for years.
When I first learned about TMS Minbody Syndrome, I quickly realized that these symptoms are just a stress response and physically I am fine.

The common cure for many people who have TMS is letting go of FEAR. Once they can convince themselves that there’s nothing wrong with them, their symptoms go away. So, telling themselves that they are safe is helpful for them.

However, for me, repeating to myself that I am safe didn’t really help much. I was moving, exercising and doing all the normal things that all healthy people are doing, which showed my brain consistently that I am not afraid of these symptoms. So what was the missing piece? Why was I still not getting noticeably better?

To me, one of the most significant pieces to getting better came from recognizing my emotions. In this podcast today, I help you learn more about your emotions and how to work with them so that your symptoms reduce as well. Even if you don’t have physical sensations in the body you will still benefit from improving your emotional awareness!
