There’s one bad habit that you may be doing, and not even be aware of it…
And if you’re not aware that you are doing it, you’re also not aware that this habit is making your chronic pain or other chronic symptoms WORSE.
The bad habit is COMPLAINING.
If you’re tempted to stop reading right now and not open the podcast that I made on this topic, because you don’t think this could possibly be you (“I don’t complain!!”), I encourage you to take a breath, relax, and hit Play anyway.
Why, if you are sure that this doesn’t apply to you?
Because many times your complaining habit has become so deep in you so that you that you don’t even realize that you are doing it:
– You may have this deep rooted belief that nothing ever works out for you, so you often talk about how unfair life is, without realizing how negative your mindset is!
– You may stay angry at the driver who cut you off and tell about it to everyone you see that day, without realizing that it sucks the energy out of you
– You may try so hard to recover from chronic pain but it doesn’t work: “I’m the only one who’s never gonna get better! It’s completely hopeless!” You’re saying this without realizing that this mindset is a major reason why you are still in pain
– You may start most of your sentences with a big sigh…
Look, it’s okay to express your frustration when something annoys you.
It’s a good thing to feel your emotions — in fact, it’s necessary if you want to recover from chronic pain.
It’s totally fine to share with a good friend or family member when something happens that you need support with.
But it’s not so good to get stuck in the anger, frustration and despair mode — and this is exactly what you are doing when you are complaining.
