Are you waiting for the time when you look perfect, eat perfect, exercise perfect, to start living your life? If so, then please stop doing that. Stop putting your life on hold just because you don't think you're perfect yet.
I see a lot how us women keep putting our lives on hold because we think we don't look perfect yet.
What Are the Things You Don't Let Yourself Enjoy, Just Because You're Scared?
Someone told me that since she gained weight to recover from hypothalamic amenorrhea, she's no longer going out with friends because she's afraid of judgement. But will true friends really judge us for gaining weight? I don't think so… If they really do, they probably weren't true friends to begin with.
This woman also told be that she is no longer going on hikes or bike rides she used to love, because she doesn't want to be seen. But why are we not letting ourselves to enjoy the things we really like — simply because we don't look the way we did before? It's not that only super skinny people get to enjoy all this!
She told me that her life is the same old daily: She goes to work, comes home, makes dinner, goes to sleep, and starts over again the next day. It's the same every single day. But it's up to us to make it the way we like.
What Do You Want to Remember 5 Years From Now?
Do you ever think: “I will do this once I'm smaller, lose weight, eat cleaner, look better.” But why wait? Why not to do all these things now?
Imagine your life 5 years from now and think what kind of memories you want to have:
1️⃣same old home-work-home, doing nothing, bored, sad, depressed?
2️⃣adventures, hikes, spontaneous meals, travels, tons of laughter, really great times?
I believe that most of us want the 2️⃣ And it's available for us.
We don't have to wait to start doing these things. Obviously, we can't go and get super social and travel right this minute, or as long as long as the Coronavirus hasn't cleared up and we have more opportunities to travel again. And of course, not everyone even wants to be super social. There’s nothing wrong with that (I'm definitely quite introverted too) — however if you like to be with people, don’t isolate yourself just because you believe you’re not perfect!
Start Living Your Life, Unapologetically
But let's think about it a little bit…
Are the pounds or kilograms that we don't like on our bodies, worth sitting at home and putting our lives on hold?
Let's use this time when we're spending more time at home, on putting together a plan for the future, maybe even making a list of the things that we're going to do when things get better.
Let's not let the thought of “I'm not good enough” to stop us for even a second. You were not given this life to waste it away just because the scale didn't show the number you expected.
You're perfect right now. Now start living your life.
