How are you doing today? Hope you all had a great weekend!
Mine kicked off on Friday morning 7am with the Early Birds Workout meetup that I hosted in Castro Park, El Cerrito. In the evening, I hosted another meetup at the same place, the Weekend Kickoff Workout.
They both went really well. The ladies that come out were incredibly nice and even if I was a tiny bit nervous in the morning, I got comfortable as the ladies showed up and we started chatting. They were all very warm and welcoming and it was pure pleasure to work with them! Thanks for coming girls!
I will teach bootcamps again this Wednesday at 6.30p at Mosswood Park, Oakland and on Friday at 7am and 6pm at Castro Park, El Cerrito. If you live in the Bay area, please join us! Sign up here.
On Saturday morning Hugh and I ran some errands in the San Francisco. The city was busy and there is always something fun happening which is fun, but we still headed home pretty early. As much as I love the city vibe, I also enjoy low-key evenings at home with a good book or documentary. That's exactly what I needed last weekend.
I'm reading “The Wild Diet” by Abel James aka The Fat Burning Man right now, and I'm loving it so far. Also his podcasts are awesome – if you are into paleo / primal lifestyle and love to hear interesting discussions on that topic, you should definitely check it out.
After a little bit of reading I started to get antsy, debating with myself whether I should go for a run or not. The weather was beautiful! Staying in felt almost like a crime, so I put my gear on, looked up some podcasts to listen and headed out.
And I'm so happy that I did, because it turned out to be a great run.
I ran along the beautiful Bay Trail, enjoyed the sunshine, people and fresh air. I covered 13 miles, which ended up being the longest I've ran this spring.
I also tried out my new JUNK headband. It really did stay in place throughout my two-hour run. Awesome!
While I do enjoy long runs, they take a lot of time, so after a much needed recovery day yesterday I'm back to my quick and fun 30-minute workouts.
Here's one you can try out too. All you need is a medicine ball and a wall for the wall ball shots.
You can find all the instructions in the video.
The workout works the whole body: Your arms, core, belly and back, butt and legs. As always, the more big muscle groups you use, the more efficient the whole workout is, in terms of calorie and fat burn and building lean muscle.
Did you work out in the weekend?
Do you usually go out in the weekend or prefer a low-key night at home?

Thanks! Yup, you should check out JUNK. I didn’t believe that they stay put until I tried them out. No more hair in my sweaty face when working out 🙂
