If you're like, I would say, most women, you tend to compare yourself to others. We especially like to compare our bodies to other people's bodies, and maybe also to our own bodies that maybe looked different in the past than it does now.
But here's the thing: If you compare yourself to others or even to some previous version of you, you’re never present and you’re not letting yourself to be happy.
Did You Gain Weight?
Did you gain weight? Lost some muscle? Have a higher body fat percentage than ever before? All these things may have happened because of hypothalamic amenorrhea recovery (aka to get your period back). Or, you may not have lost your period but you had adrenal fatigue, you were exhausted and overtrained, and now simply needed a break because your body couldn't handle that stress anymore. You started eating more, resting more, and gained some weight and lost some muscle.
And maybe you didn't experience any of those reasons; you simply gained weight.
You Are Exactly Where You Need to Be
No matter what the reason for your weight gain or muscle loss was, know this: There is a reason why you are the way you are right now. I know it's hard to handle, but it's true. Something got you where you are now, and there's a huge lesson to learn from your current situation.
That’s true not only for your body, but also for money, relationships, and all the other things in your life. Where you're right now is exactly where you need to be.
Don’t try to “fix” your body because you feel anger, bitterness, hate, judgement towards it. Start healing from the inside. Try to get back to the person you once were but who got so distracted by everything around her that she lost it.
Make A List Of Your Priorities
Think your priorities through again. Try to face your fears instead of pushing them away or distracting yourself with something else (this is so hard to do, I know!!).
Get some perspective on your life, it’s probably pretty damn good if you think about it.
Make a list of things that you feel really grateful for. Add as many things as you could think of.
Make another list of things you'd like to do in your life, and make none of these goals about the way your body looks.
If you work on your inner self, instead of trying to fix the way your body looks. That way, you don’t need to worry about what someone else does, has or looks like.
You don’t want their body or their or their lives, you want to be you. And I truly believe that no matter how much your current situation seems to suck, you have to get through it to get something awesome out of it.
