I really love chocolate and pretty much everything made with it.
Chocolate chip cookies, chocolate muffins, chocolate cake, chocolate mousse, and of course, just chocolate–I like all of them and eat them once in a while, in moderation.
The only thing that I don't like all that much is chocolate ice cream. Chocolate chips in vanilla ice cream are good but chocolate ice cream itself is not really my thing.
Today I have three chocolate recipes to share with you. They are all really simple and you probably don't even have to go to groceries to get the ingredients.
First two, Chocolate Avocado Banana Mousse and Superfood Coffee and Cacao Shake come together in five minutes. Beet Chocolate Muffins take a little longer, but making them isn't a rocket science either. They're all great options if you're looking for something chocolate-y. You will taste the rich chocolate flavor in them, but one of these desserts are too sweet.
Chocolate Avocado Banana Mousse
This mousse is super creamy and smooth. The riper the banana and avocado, the creamier it turns out. This recipe is meant for two. The portions are pretty small but hey, we're practicing sanity around treats, right 🙂 Besides, this dessert is pretty rich and ver chocolate-y, so just a little bit should tame your sweet tooth pretty easily.
Ingredients:
1 1/2 very ripe avocacos
1 banana
2 tbsp unsweetened cacao powder
2 packets stevia
enough almond milk to get everything moving (1/4 cup max, don't put too much or it won't be a mousse anymore)
Instructions:
Blend all the ingredients. Optional: Drizzle with honey and some crumbled walnuts.
Superfood Coffee and Cacao Shake
Credit for this super yummy chocolate and coffee shake goes to my Instagram friend Arielle. I knew I had to try it the second I saw it. You'll get a ton of flavors from coffee, cacao and banana and protein from chia seeds and nut butter.
The recipe is for one.
Ingredients:
1 tbsp chia seeds
1 tbsp unsweetened cacao powder
1 shot espresso
1 tbsp almond butter (or other nut butter)
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 banana
a bit of almond milk
cayenne pepper and cinnamon to taste
Instructions:
Blend all the ingredients, then top with a bit of almond milk foam. I make it by simply warming up some almond milk and then blending it in my Nutribullet.
Beet Chocolate Muffins
I made these beet chocolate muffins a few weeks ago. Those muffins are gooey and they have a very rich flavor, because in addition to cacao, there are also chocolate chips in it. That means DOUBLE chocolate!
They kept really well in the fridge. I stored them in a zip log bag and finished up the last one about a week after I made them.
If you missed it, get the full recipe here.
Try out these three chocolate recipes and let me know how you liked them!
