Back in May, I shared my five favorite health and fitness podcasts that I listen to on a weekly basis. I really love listening to a good podcast that provides me good information and keeps me company on my long walks and runs.

My Previous Favorites
Back in May my favorites were the following:
2. The Lift Like a Girl Podcast
5. The Fitcast
As you see, these podcasts are all about health and fitness. Health and fitness is definitely still my favorite topic, but today, my preferences have changed a little bit and I have started to listen things outside of fitness world as well. Or, it's probaby more accurate to say that I'm now also listening to things that are not only about health & fitness, but one way or another, still related to it.
What Has Changed Since My Last Favorites?
Let's start from the podcasts that were in my Top 5 back in May but are not there anymore.
Fat Burning Man and Ben Greenfield Podcast
Fat Burning Man is a podcast that I used to love the most. It is still a good one, but lately the topics just haven't been all that interesting for me. For example, there has been a lot of discussion on biohacking, which I just don't find all that interesting. I understand that it attracts many people, but I'm not all that much into it.
Having said that, the last episode with Steve Kamb was super fun and entertaining! They talked about why it's important to let it go sometimes and not religiously follow a diet / workout plan all of the time.
Also, I would love to hear more women in the Fat Burning Man podcast!
I also haven't been into Ben Greenfield's podcast lately, because I haven't found the topics all that fun. But I enjoyed listening the Harder to Kill Radio podcast where Ben was being interviewed. More on Harder to Kill Radio in a second.
While I'm not listening to every episode of FBM and BGP right now, both of them always provide valuable information. I learn something new every time I listen.
Balanced Bites
I haven't listened to Balanced Bites all that much. Liz and Diane, too, have a lot of valuable information to share, but I think I may be just a little bit tired of the podcast. It seems that the topics are getting slightly repetitive, which is understandable after about four years when the podcast has been going.
The Lift Like a Girl Podcast
One of my big favorites back in May, The Lift Like a Girl Podcast hosted by Nia Shanks, ended couple of months ago. So, the only reason why The Lift Like a Girl Podcast is no longer in my Top 5 list is that it doesn't exist anymore.
Hearing that the podcast won't continue made me super sad at first, but then Nia announced that she has something better coming up – and I got excited. Soon she released her new podcast, The Nia Shanks Show. I'll talk about that in a second.
Honestly, I just never got into it. I listened to about five podcasts and that was it. Maybe I have to go back and check out it again?
My Current Top 5 Podcasts
What has changed and what am I liking now?
One big change in my favorites is that I have moved from only health and fitness to other topics as well. Let me first tell you what my current Top 5 is, and then look at each of them a little closer.
- Harder To Kill Radio
- The Nia Shanks Show
- Paleo for Women Podcast
- Build a Badass Business
- Challenge your Thinking
The Newcomers

Harder to Kill Radio
My newest finding is Harder to Kill Radio. Steph Gardeau has super interesting interviews with her guests. While health and fitness are still in her main focus, the podcast is not only about these topics.
One of my recent favorite episodes was the one with with Maddy Moon where Maddy talked about her experience with bodybuilding, eating disorder she developed while she was training and how she got over it.
An interesting part of Harder to Kill Radio's podcasts is called The Gauntlet. To survive a gauntlet, each guest has to answer about five quick question that Steph asks them and give the answer that first comes to their mind. It's always interesting to listen what people's first reactions are.
The Nia Shanks Show
Nia's new show is a little different from the last one in that it doesn't focus on health and fitness only, but covers also many other topics. Nia's motto is still the same – the podcast is meant to help us to become the best version of ourselves.
Nia has been really brave and also talked about her own personal struggles that I'm sure was not an easy thing to do. But that's makes her even more authentic. I truly appreciate this show.
Paleo for Women Podcast
When I first found Paleo for Women Podcast, I got hooked immediately! I must have listened an episode a day to catch up because the podcast had been on for weeks.
The hosts Noelle Tarr and Stefani Ruper are super smart and funny and share a lot of good information, especially focusing on women (like the name of the podcast says).
Even though the name of the podcast refers to Paleo, it's not hardcore Paleo. Every women, following the Paleo diet or not, will gain some good information about the topics discussed there. Noelle and Stefani also talk a lot about body image and emphasise the importance of self love and trust.
Build a Badass Business
Diane Sanfilippo‘s podcast is a great resource for anyone who wants to create an online business. She shares tips and really practical advice, answers the listeners' questions and sometimes can be pretty straightforward in what she says. She is definitely someone to trust: She has been entrepreneur about 15 years and for sure knows what she is talking about.
My recent favorite episode is this: When you don't have $25… then get to work!
There has been couple of times when after listening I have gotten such a good energy boost to get to work on my own things right this second.
Challenge Your Thinking
This podcast, hosted by psychologist Linda Tucker, is an absolutely new one to me. To be honest, thus far I must have listened only 5 episodes or so.
I got interested in this podcast when I found an interview with John Muldoon, the creator or The Monthy Experiments Project.
Linda has had great discussions with various guests on psychology and mindset, topics that are gtting more and more interesting to me. It's amazing how much we can do when we get our mindset right. This podcast is definitely a keeper!
Conclusion
Since finding podcasts, they have kept me company all the time. My favorites may change but I'm pretty much always listening to something on my runs or walks. I put on music only for my short HIIT workouts, but for my low pace cardio sessions, podcasts are the way to go.
I have expanded the array of podcasts that I'm listening. It's definitely a good thing to step outside of the box of health and fitness and listen to other things too.
