Today I’m talking about why is it that the common advice “Just get back to life” and “You don’t have to do any work” aren’t sometimes enough to recover from chronic sensations, known as TMS.
The suggestion to get back in life is important. It really matters because by going back to doing normal everyday things, including exercise, we are proving our brains that we are okay and not afraid.
But what about the idea that there’s no other work to do?
In most cases, there is some work to do. For me personally, I had already gone back to life and I wasn’t afraid of the sensations, but the pain was still around. It continued like this for years. It wasn’t until I started working on my emotional awareness, taking a different approach to stress, and addressing my personality traits, that things started to get better and I started to get relief from sensations.
Check out today’s episode to learn what you need to do if your sensations are sticking around even though you are already “living your life” despite the sensations.
