365. Why Does Your Nervous System Feel UNSAFE + How To Create Safety In It

You may have heard that in order to heal from chronic pain and symptoms, you need to create safety in your brain and nervous system.

But you might wonder: “Why does my nervous system feel unsafe? I don’t feel unsafe.”

That’s right: You may not be in a dangerous situation at all, but your nervous system doesn’t understand it so you may still feel anxious, feel a strong sense of urgency, panic, or pain.

Your nervous system speaks a different language, and it may not understand your words when you say that you’re safe.

Your nervous system operates differently. And it has its own language that she uses to tell you that it’s not safe.

That language can look like this: It's the FEELING of
Butterflies in the stomach
Tension in the neck
Pain in the back
Migraine
Insomnia
Feelings of urgency
Depression
Anxiety
etc.

THESE are the signs that tell you that it’s feeling unsafe, and in this episode I teach you 2 tools that you can use to communicate safety to your nervous system, using the language IT understands.
