We’ve talked about the concepts of TMS and HSP for a little bit before. In today’s episode I’m going to tell you why strength training is an absolutely critical tool for HSPs to feel more empowered in their lives, and how strength training can help overcome TMS Mindbody Syndrome.
TMS is a condition where people have physical symptoms in the body but they are not caused by any physical issue in the body. For example, they can have chronic back pain, double vision, digestive problems that always come back no matter how many treatments they had; they may have pelvic pain, tingling, numbness… But the trick is, there’s NOTHING wrong in the body. The problem is in the nervous system.
HSP or Highly Sensitive People are people who also have heightened nervous systems. Because of their high sensitivity, they often struggle with excessive worry, anxiety, people pleasing, fear of conflict etc.
I believe that while strength training is so important for everyone, it’s especially important for both people with TMS and people who are highly sensitive.
Check out today’s episode to learn why it matters and how to get started with strength training.
