Kettlebell workouts almost always include swings. Which is understandable, because swing is the most fundamental kettlebell exercise.
This workout, however, doesn't have swings in it, but it has three other awesome movements: Double Kettlebell Clean and Press, Double Kettlebell Rack Squats and Single Arm Snatches. They're all great strength builders, and if you keep the intensity high, you get your cardio work done at the same time.
Here's what you'll be doing in this workout:
5 rounds of
8 Double Kettlebell Clean and Press
8 Double Kettlebell Rack Squats
8+8 Single Arm Snatches
Since the rounds are short, you'll be done in no time–but still getting in a great workout!
Double Kettlebell Clean and Press–Legs, hips, back, abs, and arms
Double Kettlebell Rack Squats–Legs, back, abs and thanks to holding the rack position, arms
Single Arm Snatches–Mostly upper body, arms and core, but definitely also legs.
As you see, all three movements work the whole body.
I used two 25-pound kettlebells. Choose weights according to your fitness level–you may need to go heavier or lighter. Also, if you have just one kettlebell, you can still do this workout. Simply do the Clean and Press and Rack Squats one arm at a time, alternating each round. You may want to do one round more or one round less to work both sides equally.
Here's a video of this workout, so you can grab your kettlebell and do this with me. In this video, you see me doing three last rounds.
I needed to take short breaks between the sets, feel free to do the same!
As always, if you did this workout, let me know how you liked it!
