337. Do You Suppress Your Emotions But Without Realizing It?

You’ve heard me talk several times about how chronic sensations in the body can be caused by unexpressed emotions. You might be thinking: “This can’t be the case for me, I for sure express my emotions! I know when I’m sad or angry.”

In today’s episode I want to challenge you and show you that maybe you do suppress them but you aren’t even aware of it. I’m going to give you a couple of real life examples to consider, and you can think how you would respond in these situations. You may find that you actually do suppress your emotions, therefore causing yourself pain.

A note about TMS, a term that I use a lot in this podcast and episode: TMS or Tension Myositis Syndrome is a condition where there is chronic sensations or pain in the body, while nothing being structurally wrong. There is no tissue damage but instead the pain or other sensation comes from stress, heightened nervous system and oftentimes unexpressed emotions.
